legalweb awards the Law Firm of the Future certification to firms that score at least 16 of 24 points in a twelve-question survey. It is not a ranking or a competition – every firm that meets the threshold is certified. The questions look at how a firm responds to changes in the legal market. Four areas are assessed: the arrival of artificial intelligence, ESG, combining legal and other advice, and new working models. legalweb announced the results on 2 October 2026 at a meeting of its community.

In the survey we described, for each of these areas, how we actually work. So far we use generative AI, mainly Claude and Libra, chiefly to analyse large volumes of data and documents and for routine tasks. This means we are less limited by headcount, and our senior team can compete with much larger firms. Legal services at mutualus sit alongside ESG risk analyses, large-scale data analytics and our own research, because clients need to resolve a specific business situation, not only a legal question. Our senior lawyers and advisors also work part-time and are active in academia or research alongside their practice. For our specialisation that is an asset, not a complication.
